COVID-19 UPDATE
We are carefully monitoring the information regarding COVID 19. We want to assure all that we are continuing to operate on a normal schedule and providing all services to our instructors, trainee’s, sponsors and sub-contractors. This course covers basic blueprint reading. Drawing, symbols, plans elevation and scaling will be associated with this course. Trainees will be taught to read basic lay-out covering structural, architectural and specification. Some estimating principals will be developed with this course.

This course will provide trainees with the skills required to work in residential and commercial framing. It will cover – ceilings, roof framing, lay-out of floors, walls, interior and exterior work.

Required tools / supplies: Framing, square, chalk line, tape measure, hard hat, boots, hammer, pry bar, level, safety glasses, cordless screw gun, notebook and pencil.
This course will cover basic drywall installation. Trainees will be taught different sizes of drywall for interior and exterior walls per City Code.
Prerequisites:
Course length: 40 hours
Required tools / supplies: Drywall screw gun, T-square, tape measure, chalk line, rasp, utility knife, notebook and pencil.
This course will cover basic finish work with smooth walls ready to paint. Trainees will learn to tape and apply plaster to hide the seams of the drywall installed.
Prerequisites:
Course length: 40 hours
Required tools / supplies: taping knives 4” – 12”, mud pan, white shirt and pants, boots, mixing gun, bucket, notebook and pencil.
This course will cover basic painting. Trainees will learn the different types of paint brushes and rollers to apply to different surfaces. Protect contents and flooring (prep work) before starting.

Required tools / supplies: white shirt and pants, boots, paint brushes 2 ½” – 4”, roller and sleeve, paint pan, plastic covering, tarps, ladder, bucket and paint sticks.
This course will teach trainees how to create and apply wood casing, baseboard trim, crown molding and arches over doors and windows.
Prerequisites:
Course length: 24 hours
Required tools / supplies: Files, safety glasses, chalk-line, chisel, tape measure, hammer, pouch, coping saw, hard hat and T-Bevel square.
This course will cover basic cabinet installation. Trainees will learn the floor plan to fit different dimensions for kitchen and bathrooms.

Required tools / supplies: Level, cordless screw gun, chalk line, tape measure, 3” screws, drill kit and ladder.
This course will cover basic flooring installation. Trainees will learn prep work to install sub-flooring, ceramic, wood, vinyl and VCT tile.

Trainees will receive instruction in estimating construction projects of residential and commercial properties. Students will have to estimate material for a specific house with a set of blueprints. They will identify and organize components of the house or building with appropriate material list.

This course will equip trainees with the skills to remove and install windows. Students will learn the different types of windows and their quality.

Required tools / supplies: tape measure, speed square, cordless screw gun, hammer, pry bar, screws, insulation, notebook and pencil.
This course covers step by step instruction in the installation of many different brands and types of doors and door hardware. Area covered includes – frames, doors, hinges, locksets, exit devices and closers.

Required tools / Supplies: Framing square, tape measure, speed square, level, finish hammer, pry bar, cordless screw gun, screwdriver set, self – centering punch, chisel, drill kit, block planer, safety glasses, footwear, notebook and pencil.
